Training & Specialists
Dr. Lacey has traveled to three different states to learn from some of the most knowledgeable dentists, IBCLCs (lactation consultants), and SLPs (speech therapists) in the nation about this condition and procedure. She performs this procedure on an average of three babies per week in-office.
At Concord Family Dental, we have an SLP that works in-office (Kelsey Brasseaux, CCC-SLP, CLC), specializing in feeding. She is also a certified lactation consultant. With her expertise on tongue & oral function, as well as her ability to help a nursing mother with her latch, we make a dream team!
Our partner, Southern Dental Care, is the only office in NOLA that utilizes a speech therapist/ lactation consultant on-staff to do an assessment before, during, and after the procedure. She diagnoses functional issues and determines if therapy alone will be enough to solve the problem. If the patient plateaus in therapy, or comes to us from another therapist having already plateaued, we perform the frenectomy (tie release) and return the patient to their therapist, or continue therapy in-office to aid in the healing process.

Kelsey is working toward a Certification in Oral Myology to become a Myofunctional Therapist. She treats adults and children to correct muscular compensations due to tongue and lip tie as well as other oral dysfunctions. We utilize therapy in conjunction with the lip and tongue tie procedure to gain incredible results.

TESTIMONIAL
“Evelyn was born 3 weeks early, 3rd percentile. Her latch was EXTREMELY painful for me, and she could barely suck on a bottle of expressed bm. Her pedi kept telling me, “it’s not a tie, those aren’t real, it’s ok to give formula”. At 2.5 weeks they started to bring up failure to thrive. I was sleep deprived from round the clock feeding, desperate to keep baby EBF, and started researching what could be causing this. After finding this group and being reached out to by Dr. Andreotta, Evelyn had her lip tie and posterior tongue tie lasered at 4 weeks old. I am so happy to report that we are STILL exclusively breastfed at 4 months old, and she jumped from the 3rd percentile in weight to the 76th. Here she is saying “failure to thrive? me? nope!” I can’t recommend Dr. Andreotta enough and hope this finds someone who feels as lost and discouraged as I did!”
